When buying or selling a property, there will be various closing costs associated with the transaction outside of just the buyer’s down payment amount. So, it’s important to understand what these closing costs are and how pays for what.

There are five major groups these closing costs can be categorized under. These include:

  • Escrow and title fees
  • Transfer taxes
  • Miscellaneous items
